Junko Furuta

The Downside of Writing

Junko Furuta

Sometimes, research can be a real bitch, because occasionally you see things that can't be unseen.

A part of me wishes that I'd never discovered the awful truth about a teenager named Junko Furuta....and another part of me is damned glad that I did.

Chapter 10

A Taste From My New Book

I promised to share Chapter 10 from my new novel today, and here it is.
Enjoy.

Chapter 10

Christine was horrified. “All of these kids…all of these children are murder victims?”
Pilar nodded. “Yes, the kids here, though, are the worst of the worst- in how they were treated back on Earth, I mean.”
“Treated…badly?”
“You know that sweet little girl who won’t let go of God?”
“Irina? The Russian girl?” Christine said. “She’s like a backpack with teeth.”

Chapter 9

A Taste From My New Book

It's 1971, and Christine Taylor has just died in a plane crash. In Chapter 9, she meets God for the first time.

I will post Chapter 10, tomorrow, and you will find out exactly how God feels about those that harm children. Enjoy....

Chapter 9

God’s House
Heaven

“This …is…God’s house?”
“That’s right.” Harry Moss said, then knocked on the door as Christine stood behind him on the stone pathway.
The early morning air was cool and pleasant. Insects buzzed about the dewy grass on the closely trimmed lawn. Frogs croaked in the shadows and a friendly neighbor waved as he collected his newspaper. Christine stopped short, realizing who it was.
“Harry…is that Oskar Schindler  - ”
“Hmm? Oh, yes. We go skeet shooting occasionally. Don’t get him started about saving the Jews, though. Goes on and on.”
